Sports and Kinesio Taping both work to enhance your other treatments.

Sports Taping or Kinesio Taping can support and continue the benefits of other treatments like Massage or Acupuncture after you have left our clinic. Depending on severity of injury and exposure to water, sweating and or friction you may need to have your taping reapplied up to 3 times per week. If you have quite a lot of hair on the area to be taped it may be more comfortable to shave the area first.

You may have noticed that more athletes at all levels are using taping to improve their sporting performance, prevent injury and to allow them to return to the sport or profession they love a lot faster.

Sports Taping

Sports Taping uses a more rigid tape and is designed to offer more stability to joints during activity. Due to the role of support that sports taping plays, it is often wrapped quite tightly around the affected muscle or joint and ought to be worn for a shorter period of time before being removed to restore movement and full circulation. The taping should be firm and restrictive but comfortable.

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping helps with postural correction by supporting or inhibiting specific muscles and can offer support for weak, injured or unstable joints. It is a highly elastic tape that drys quickly and is designed to be worn for several days giving comfort for movement while providing the body with more of a ‘gentle reminder’ of support or inhibition of specific muscles or joints.
