Emily Flowers

Diploma in Health Sciences (Therapeutic Massage)(NZCM 2017)

Student of the Diploma in Health Sciences (Massage and Sports Therapy)(NZCM 2017)

After Leaving College in 2015, I didn’t have a clear understanding what I wanted to pursue as a profession, however I always had a fascination with human anatomy and the healthcare industry.  When the option of Massage Therapy presented itself, I took the leap to study this area of health care that hadn’t necessarily been in my mind in the past as a career choice.  Since then I have completed a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage and currently I am still studying to further my knowledge by doing a diploma in sports massage.

Being a part of this growing industry, I feel as though I can contribute my knowledge and passion towards massage and body function to provide clients with great treatment that suits their needs, and create a safe environment for the client to be able to relax and feel as though their general well-being is being improved. I love seeing how the ripple effects of massage benefit my clients beyond the symptoms they come in with.

Feel free to book an appointment with me, it will be great to meet you.

Hello, Wellingtonians! My name is Summer Xue, I am an experienced and registered Acupuncturist who specializes in addiction relief, pain management and sports Acupuncture. I  treat a number of different health problems such as migraine headaches, upper and lower back pain, hip pain, elbow pain, neck pain, stress and PTSD, weight management, migraines, depression, anxiety, frozen shoulders, insomnia, blood pressure maintenance issues, weight loss issues and facial rejuvenation, along with many other disorders. Specifically, I like to treat with a variety of techniques including acupuncture, moxibustion, Gua Sha, cupping and electro acupuncture and Herbs. My goal is to provide treatments that are both effective and long term, and with results that are satisfying. I love Acupuncture, it is the most widely used system of medicine on earth and has been used by billions of people over thousands of years.

My background includes two years experience serving as a soldier in the Chinese military working in the department of health using Acupuncture to treat other female soldiers. I've also spent a year working in a Rehabilitation centre here in Wellington as part of my work experience and I have Massage and Spa experience here too. My colleagues and patients describe me as both caring and compassionate, and comment that it’s very apparent that I truly love what I do.

BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Clinical Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy (Oxford, UK)

Following a successful engineering career in the UK that was not taking me in the direction I wanted in life, and having experienced sports therapy for the first time (due to a martial arts injury), I pursued it as a career in 2015.

I achieved my latest qualification (BTEC level 5 Diploma) at the Oxford School of Sports Massage, which is recognised as the highest qualification in the UK and accredited by the Sports Massage Association.

As a new therapist to Absolute Therapy, I am keen to flourish in a clinical environment, meeting new clients and therapists. After running my own successful private clinic in Warwickshire England, I moved to New Zealand in April 2017 to extend my knowledge and experience to a new level.

In my treatments, I like to focus in soft tissue manipulation, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, positional release techniques, neuromuscular techniques, body mechanics, rehabilitation, remedial exercises and stretches for injury prevention and therapeutic purposes.

My greatest area of interest in my work is to understand and respect every client I treat as individuals. We all possess unique physical, physiological and psychological characteristics; therefore it is essential that treatment be tailored to accommodate each client’s requirements. I like to consider myself as a 'musculoskeletal detective' as it is my aim to problem-solve the clients reason for visiting, by recovering a restored and balanced body.

For those of you that don’t know me yet, I look forward to meeting you all!

Vijay Kapoor

Bachelar of Physiotherapy Pandit Deen Dayal Institute for the Physically Handicapped (University of Delhi), New Delhi, India (2015)

Diploma in Naturopathy & Yoga: International Foundation of Natural Health and Yoga in Delhi, India (2015)

Graduate Diploma in Addiction, Alcohol and Drug Studies (Level 7): Wellington Institute of Technology, Wellington, New Zealand (2016)

I am an enthusiastic, positive individual who is very passionate about my profession and I have a keen desire to contribute to the well-being of our society. I am educated and trained in Physiotherapy from Delhi University, India. While in India I also completed my Diploma in Naturopathy and Yoga. This course gave me additional knowledge for providing people with good mental and physical health and I love working with individuals to create a plan that fits with their lifestyle and provides them with notable and sustainable changes. During my training I did a lot of practice learning about clinical practice and seeing patients suffering from congenital, accidental, skeletal or other deformities as well as patients in wheelchairs.

The skills I gained from my addiction, alcohol and drug studies have hlped me in developing a thorough understanding of the psychology of various addictions.

I now feel confident in helping people rehabilitate in a holistic manner where we address their physical, mental and spiritual well-being and look forward to combining my skills to provide someone with the best help I possibly can.

I look forward to meeting you.

Iselde de Boam

Managing Director of Absolute Therapy;

RMT, Dip. Th Mass 2003 New Zealand College of Massage Dip. Rem Mass 2009 Q. Academy (Au),

Lower North Island regional representative for MNZ

I have lived in and travelled many places in Europe and Australia working as a self employed Massage Therapist and tutor along the way. I have been part of the Governance Group overseeing the development of the new qualification pathway for Massage within New Zealand that has been submitted to NZQA. In November 2013 I expanded from one room and took over as the Managing Director of Absolute Therapy Ltd.

Where Massage is concerned, I am motivated and active in the industry and I love my work which I approach with a genuine interest for each person. I particularly love the relief people talk of after receiving on-going Massages from me and the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) changes in the way they relate to their body as they reconnect with themselves. A lot of my work is with regular clients giving weekly or fortnightly "maintenance massage" which helps people manage the fast pace of their busy lives. I also do a lot of rehabilitation type work spending 6-8 sessions with people, initially quite close together and then spreading them out as we begin to see results. These people may also getting Physiotherapy post injury (sporting or other) or they may have chronic conditions/physical ailments that need regular attention to maintain functionality and to manage pain levels - these can be things like OOS, frozen shoulders, sciatica, joint reconstruction (post-surgery recovery), and much more. MassageTherapists from around town also seek me out for their own preventative or maintenance treatments and I personally receive regular fortnightly massage the Therapists at Absolute Therapy.

On the business side of things, I love the challenges and learning's I get daily and feel like I am only limited by my own imagination. I would like to get creative with my business model and look at running my business on more of a Social Enterprise model. Social Enterprises appeal to me because I feel they are essentially community minded, ethically run businesses using a sustainable business model.

I am compelled to work towards lifting the usual approach towards, and standard of, Massage as an industry from both the public and practitioner view points. I am focused on running a business that offers a range of professionals who provide quality treatments and prioritise results and customer satisfaction.

Absolute Therapy has a unique ambiance, is a pleasure to visit and you'll see that the staff love working here too.

Micropigmentation Services & Training post-grad cert. in Micropigmentation '15

CIBTAC dip. Aesthetic Treatments '08

I really enjoy waxing and tinting but my passion and focus of late has been on micropigmentation and microblading.

I find that continued training is so important as the industry is ever changing and there are always new tools and methods to learn about. Cosmetic tattooing allows my clients the freedom to wake up without the hassle of their daily make-up routine and enhancing a persons natural beauty is such a great feeling, it can literally be life changing.

I look forward to meeting new faces and sharing my skills here at Absolute Therapy.
